Applications for the Montville Township Public Schools’ [MTPS] Integrated Preschool program will be accepted through March 1, 2025. Applications received after March 1, will be put on a waiting list. 

Space is limited in the popular program. Parents and guardians are encouraged to apply before the deadline.

Five half-day morning sessions per week, for 3-year-olds, from 8:10 a.m. to 10:40 a.m., and five half-day afternoon sessions per week, for 4-year-olds, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., are scheduled for the 2025-2026 school year.

Aligned with the New Jersey Department of Education’s guidelines for high-quality early childhood education, the MTPS district’s integrated preschool offers 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds, with and without special needs, an opportunity for high quality and personalized education. In addition, children who attend the Montville Township Public Schools’ Integrated Preschool have access to MTPS’ extensive resources. Resources such as: school assemblies, special programs, school-wide events, and theme days, as well as weekly instruction in art, music, and media taught by certified faculty members.

“Innovative preschool classes are part of the unique child-centered education of the Montville Township Public Schools,” said Tara Monaco, Supervisor of Special Services, K-12. “Our comprehensive, child-centered, approach helps all students learn and prepare to successfully transition into kindergarten.”  

Housed at Valley View Elementary School, the MTPS Integrated Preschool incorporates engaging, hands-on, theme-based, activities designed to promote the academic, social, emotional, and language development of every child.

“Our inclusive preschool is an exciting educational environment,” Erica Cerilli-Levine, Director of Special Services, K-12, added. “Class sizes in the Integrated Preschool are small. Dual-certified Pre-school teachers head each class. In addition, lessons are facilitated by a certified Speech and Language Specialist to enhance language development. A certified Occupational and Physical Therapist also teaches lessons to enhance fine and gross motor development.”

The MTPS Integrated Preschool program utilizes research-based approaches and materials. Two paraprofessionals also work in the classroom. The school schedule will adhere to the district’s 2025-2026 MTPS calendar.

Registration is now open for both morning and afternoon classes. Enrollment is limited. A preschool readiness screening will be scheduled in the spring at Valley View Elementary School. Parents and guardians who complete applications for their children will, be notified by email regarding the screening information.

In order to be eligible, children must be at least 3-years of age, but less than 5-years of age, on or before September 1, 2025. Tuition is $550 per month for 10 months. Limited transportation is available at a rate of $275 per year, one way, or $550.00 per year round trip. Completed applications, along with: a copy of your child’s birth certificate, and a driver’s license must be returned to the Montville Township Public Schools, Board of Education Office, Department of Special Services, 86 River Road, Montville, NJ 07045, on or before March 1.
