Over 275 members of the Montville Township High School [MTHS] Class of 2024 participated in the 53rd Annual MTHS Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Despite intense heat, the school’s tradition graduating from the MTHS Mustang Stadium was upheld. At the end of the ceremony the graduates tossed their mortar boards into the air.

Class President Zaara Metha led the Pledge of Allegiance, sang the STAR SPANGLED BANNER and addressed her peers and their families at the 71st Annual Robert R. Lazar Promotion Ceremony. “These last three years at Lazar have been an amazing experience. Whatever obstacles we faced, we overcame. With the lessons middle school has taught us, high school will be another successful chapter in our lives,” Metha said. Over 230 8th grade students were promoted at the ceremony on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

Mr. Jones, a 98-year-old resident of Montville Township, New Jersey, has been named the VETERAN OF THE GAME by the Mets organization. A crowd of 40,000 is estimated to be in attendance as the New York METS confront the New York YANKEES. Nine Montville Township High School athletes were celebrated on Monday, May 20, 2024, at the school’s Annual Student Athlete Recognition Day. In announcing intentions to play college-level sports, the students posed for photos with coaches, administrators, and family members. Eight of the students will play Division 3. One student, Alexis Riley, has signed-on for Division 1 ACHA Ice Hockey at Penn State University. Athletic Director Wayne Guarino congratulated the seniors and noted the level of Mustang Pride the Montville Township Public Schools district and the community-at-large feels toward these outstanding athletes. For the past 36 years, Valley View Elementary School has participated in A.C.E.S. – All Children Exercise Simultaneously. On May 1, 2024, the elementary students exercised simultaneously with millions of students around the globe. ACES was developed at Valley View in 1989. THE LION KING JR was performed by eighteen students from the five elementary schools in the Montville Township Public Schools district. All roles were performed by students in grades two through five. The unique program provided a strong theatrical “team” for elementary students district-wide.

Vani Sharma is one of only three winners in the NJ Natural Gas [NJNG] Annual Conservation Poster Contest. Nearly 2,000 NJ fifth grade students entered. During an in-class awards ceremony, Sharma, her class, and her school, received awards from NJNG. Sharma’s poster highlighted recycling, composting, saving energy, eliminating pollution, and saving water. Sharma also encouraged others to use green sources of energy. Carolyn Cannon, the Manager of Educational Programming and Customer Advocacy at New Jersey Natural Gas, presented Sharma with an iPad, a framed copy of her winning poster, a Certificate of Excellence, and other items. In addition, awards were given to the William Mason fifth grade classes ($500) and teachers Jennifer McLaughlin, Brooke Williams and Melissa Garcia ($100 gift card). William Mason Elementary School also received $1000 for an environmental project.
