For the 6/2 event, 6th grade wore red or orange; 7th-yellow or green; & 8th-blue or purple. "Kindness begins within each of us," the SC's invite in the Lazar newsletter said, "and all people are essential, just like the colors of the rainbow." The Lazar SC officers & reps gathered for a rainbow photo.

In honor of Memorial Day, students joined teachers Richard Crescente, Nicole Rudge and Michelle Trautmann, and VFW members, in Montville's historic Pinebrook and Church Lane Cemeteries. The students replaced over 150 flags on veteran graves.
The flags honored veterans from many wars, including the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Spanish American War, WWI, WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War.
Following the replacement of the flags, students had lunch with veterans at the Montville VFW Post on Changebridge Road.
