"The Digital Dilemma"
"You CAN protect your kids, but not if you are unaware. From powerfully manipulative technology, to invasive privacy intrusions and incredibly dangerous predators, your kid's mental health and physical safety is at constant risk. We teach you how to keep them safe."
- Timothy M. Shoemaker, M.S.
"The Digital Dilemma" is an explosive, yet wildly entertaining, class for all adults in the community.
“This program is an absolute game-changer for parents,” speaker and social media and technology expert Timothy M. Shoemaker, M.S., notes on his website: https://timothyshoemaker.com/events/.
Shoemaker‘s in-person presentation will fill audience members with the social media and technology knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to make a difference in a kid's life.
“You really need to attend this class!” Shoemaker writes.
Sponsored by the Montville Township Public Schools [MTPS] Counseling Department, "The Digital Dilemma" parent program will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Montville Township High School auditorium. Shoemaker will provide those who attend with important knowledge about child safety in regards to social media and technology. This event is FREE. All adults -- parents, guardians, educators, and community members -- are invited to attend. The February 13 at 7:00 p.m. program is an adults-only presentation.
“The research is now clear, teens are suffering terrible and irreparable harms from cell phone use, social media, and internet exposure,” Shoemaker adds. “But parents feel lost or helpless when trying to control the ever-changing technology that's been put into their kids hands.”
"The Digital Dilemma" is a class designed by Shoemaker. This FREE presentation will show parents and other adults why their concerns about social media are well-grounded.
In addition to the upcoming adults-only presentation of "The Digital Dilemma," on Thursday, February 13, at 7:00 p.m., Shoemaker will also present, throughout February, age-adjusted educational information for MTPS students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. MTPS serves Montville, Pine Brook, and Towaco, NJ. The district has seven schools and is home to 3,500 students in grades pre-k to twelve.
“I encourage all adults in the MTPS community to attend "The Digital Dilemma,” said Superintendent Dr. Thomas A. Gorman. “I guarantee that everyone who attends this important program will gain some knowledge and learn skills that they did not have before they entered the MTHS auditorium.”
