Alice (Grace Hricay) and Humpty Dumpty (Danylo Kondryshyn) in the Montville Township High School Theatre Company’s fall production of "Alice in Wonderland." The show will be held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, November 14, 15, and 16 at 7:00 p.m. The production is staged in the MTHS auditorium. MTHS is located at 100 Horseneck Road in Montville, NJ. Montville Twp. BOE Member Karen Cortellino with the CHAMPION AWARD for Leadership - Presented  to her by the NJSBA. The New Jersey School Boards Association presented Montville Township Board of Education Member, Dr. Karen Cortellino, with the prestigious NJSBA Champion Award during Workshop 2024 in Atlantic City. NJSBA Champion Awards are presented to individuals who exemplify outstanding dedication and effort in areas such as teamwork, leadership, innovation and other qualities that help the NJSBA advance its mission to promote the achievement of all students.

Based on the Dan Gutman novel by the same name, and directed by music teacher Jordan Green, HONUS & ME is the story of a young baseball fan who discovers a 1909 Honus Wager baseball card. ESL Family Night is Tuesday, October 8 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. All parents and guardians of all students who are enrolled in the Montville Township Public Schools district's English as a Second Language [ESL] program are invited to attend.    Please come and meet the ESL teachers and learn more about ESL services offered by MTPS and the community-at-large. Children are welcome to attend this event. Montville Township High School [MTHS] students will be at the event to help entertain the children who attend.    ESL Family Night will be held in the Hilldale Elementary School Media Center, 123 Konner Avenue, Pine Brook, NJ. The Math Teachers: Charles A. Grau who is completing a total of 30-years as an elected volunteer to the Montville Township Public Schools Board of Education, and 62 years in education in NJ, presented the MTPS 50-Years-of-Service Award to Toby Cohen. Grau taught Cohen math in the 1960’s. Cohen has been a Robert R. Lazar Middle School Math Teacher for 50-years.

“Practice Makes Permanent!” The Montville Township High School students who attended the Montville Township Public Schools Multilingual Academy at Woodmont Elementary School this summer served as leaders and mentors for the younger students in the program. The older students assisted  elementary students in refreshing and revitalizing reading skills at Woodmont Elementary.

For the past 36 years, Valley View Elementary School has participated in A.C.E.S. – All Children Exercise Simultaneously. On May 1, 2024, the elementary students exercised simultaneously with millions of students around the globe. ACES was developed at Valley View in 1989. SPORTS ILLUSTRATED once called ACES “The world’s largest exercise class.”

The Chinese Honor Society of Montville Township High School invites the community to celebrate the Lunar New Year at their “Chinese New Year Festival” on Thursday, February 15, 2024. The MTHS Chinese Honor Society will celebrate the Year of the Dragon at the “Chinese New Year Festival” from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024, in the Montville Township High School cafeteria. The Montville Township Public Schools Counseling Department is making available an important mental health training program. “VIRTUAL Youth Mental Health First Aid” is an instructor-led online course designed for adults who are parents, guardians, teachers, coaches, camp counselors, etc. This course is being provided free of charge to parents or guardians of students in grades 6-12. Registration is required and seats are limited. The registration deadline is February 9, 2024.  “VIRTUAL Youth Mental Health First Aid” is presented by the National Council for Mental Health and New Bridge Mental Health Services. Those who participate in “VIRTUAL Youth Mental Health First Aid” will learn how to identify, understand, and respond to, signs of mental health and substance-use challenges among adolescents. Participants will build the skills and confidence needed to reach out and provide initial support to young people who are struggling. This course will also help adults learn how to connect young people with help.  The Counseling Department of MTPS has scheduled this VIRTUAL event for February 21 and 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.   “VIRTUAL Youth Mental Health First Aid” will cover:  Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges in this age group, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders and attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD). Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges. How to interact with a child or adolescent in crisis. How to connect youth with help. Expanded content on trauma, substance use, self-care, and the impact of social media and bullying. Complete a 2-hour, self-paced online class prior to February 21. On both February 21 and February 28, those who are registered will participate in a 2-hour Instructor-led video conference via Zoom from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Participants must attend both virtual evenings. Due to space limitations, please register only one parent or guardian per family, in order to allow additional families an opportunity to also register. Those who register will receive a link to the virtual course. Kindergarten Registration for Montville Township Public Schools’ 2024-2025 academic year opens Tuesday, January 9, 2024. All children of residents of Montville, Pine Brook, or Towaco, New Jersey, who have reached the age of five on or before October 1, 2024, are eligible for Kindergarten. Parents/Guardians must complete On-Line Registration for each child attending Kindergarten.  The 2024-2025 Kindergarten Registration deadline is Monday, February 12, 2024.
