MTHS - Mr. Scufari's US History II students had a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the roaring 1920s during a fun and educational "Celebrity Meet & Greet" activity. Each student was assigned a famous figure from the 1920s, ranging from iconic celebrities, political figures, and cultural trailblazers to sports stars and innovators.
In preparation, students conducted research on their assigned person, and learned about their life, achievements, and contributions to the era. With their knowledge in hand, they participated in a live, interactive event where they “met” their classmates who portrayed other historical figures from the period.
The event allowed students to walk around, engage in conversations, and ask questions, gaining a deeper understanding of the key people who shaped the 1920s. Afterward, each student completed a graphic organizer that helped them synthesize what they learned, reflecting on the impact these figures had on society.

MTHS - In a creative twist on traditional reading activities, some students in English class recently participated in an exciting "Speed Dating with a Book" activity. Students rotated through a series of quick "book dates," where they had just a few minutes to introduce their outside read book to a partner, share key plot points, characters, and what made the book intriguing. After each round, they moved on to the next book and new partner.
Not only did this promote discussion and deeper thinking about their books, but it also sparked excitement for new reading recommendations among classmates. By the end of the event, students had a fresh appreciation for their current reads—and maybe even discovered their next favorite book!

MTHS - Sehaj Singh is showcases the custom-built acoustic levitation system he designed for his Honors Physics class. Along with his team, Sehaj crafted a presentation aimed at middle school students, breaking down the physics of sound in an easy-to-understand way. The levitation system generates a standing wave, creating enough pressure to counteract gravity and levitate a tiny piece of paper, demonstrating the power of sound waves in action. A captivating blend of creativity and science, this project brings physics to life!
